JoJo -- Delayed gratification

Today I learned that you can make very clever plans for your garden and find almost none of the plants you wanted at the nursery.

Of the 11 things we went for, we came home with 2.

Persimmon tree - I wanted American. They only had Japanese.
Pomegranate Tree - They had them. I opted out because, while the tree will grow here, the fruit won't.
Columnar Apple Trees - They didn't have it.
Salal - They didn't have it.
Pacific wax myrtle - They didn't have it.
Yarrow - We got yarrow!
Fennel - Because we didn't find anything else that I wanted to plant with the fennel, I decided to wait on the fennel.
Wild strawberry - They didn't have the kind I wanted.
Red flowering currant - We found it, but it was a cultivar and we wanted the real deal.
High bush cranberry - Didn't find it.
Evergreen huckleberry - Didn't find it.
Gooseberry - We got it!
Goumi - They didn't have the kind I wanted.

Red-osier dogwood

I'm feeling very discouraged because I'm not able to make much progress. I'm hoping the plant sales that I go to in the next few weeks will have more of what I want.
